Pure Love Turned Ruthless

Published on

To the ones who didn't see the hidden figure behind the walls scared

The wild lights opened the dance floor the ones intoxicating you the music blared as the bodies wrapped up in each other danced. The minibar had its wreaked lost in their battles drinkers with their heads down getting their drinks refilled. Wrapping my arms around neither those places could fit me in. With a last look around, I dragged myself out in the balcony. Fresh air filling me in I still couldn't find the peace that took to be a normal human. The view was a quiet one, this piece didn't fit the neighborhood. Breathing in the moments that couldn't stay in longer, my heart ached with every pulse as the throbbing bruises couldn't find a hand of love to numb it.

The door slid to the right as my eyes moved towards my left, I could name those footsteps that have been covering paths for me for a while now. Bent over the fence, I narrowed my eyes at his presence grieve was my piece, the hollowness I had been hustled into was to bury me, and yet he had been aching for the heart that ached that didn't even belong to him.

Stepping close he stood by my side bent over the fence and stared into the abyss where I had been falling with no end.

"Am I now old enough to know?" Looking at him, I slowly nodded. He looked hopeful. Looking back at the sky, I pictured that house again.

Everything looked nice mostly, in place. The movie room smelled of freshly made popcorn, and the blankets had various candies, sweet and sour hidden in them. The white colored wall displayed the movie playing one of my favorites. She sat there in between them legs apart trying to fit the big popcorn bowl in between her legs. Juice boxes were right beside dad since she had a habit of spilling them when excited. The song was about to start, and I could see the sparkle in those tiny eyes gleaming to sing her heart out and dance.

I moved towards the kitchen, the gap in there just got bigger, the heart sunk deeper as the hollowness gripped me a little tighter. Mom had made her wear her apron as she goofed around in that, much bigger than her size. Mom helped her mix the batter for the cake that she had promised to make for dad.

I stood there confused, body feared what my mind was trying to uncover to devour the cries that could be heard past the lounge behind the wall. Turning around my heart leapt for her, hiding behind scared yet I stood rooted in that place. Her eyes blinked tears as the glasses came crashing down her hands shook that gripped the sides of the wall more firmly. Horrified to the core, she didn't understand that love in between them was walking on a thread, knots kept loosening making it breakable.

Their screams were more clamorous now shouting hurtful words to each other those hands, were her defense and those hands were his weapon. My hands covered my ears as I dropped down on my knees. Looking towards her, she had her ears covered too. Still couldn't see, the love being torn apart even after years I still carried those words with me. I was just as helpless as I had been then I couldn't soothe her, I couldn't make them love again.

The night had fallen upon us as we still stood side by side.

"You were to be born after one month."

The silence had never been this deafening between us before.
